Chickens at 63
Good morning, 63 Staff,
We wanted to quickly address the chipmunk situation around the chicken coop area.
We understand that not everyone is comfortable with the traps that have been set. However, our primary responsibility is the health and wellbeing of the chickens in our care. Despite trying other methods to deter them, chipmunks and mice continued to access and consume the chickens' feed, which was impacting the chickens' nutrition and overall welfare.
Setting traps was not a decision we made lightly, but it became a necessary step after other efforts proved unsuccessful. Our goal is not to harm wildlife unnecessarily, but to protect the animals that depend on us for their care.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our chickens. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you, Lisa & Sonia
